Fashion Shifts With the Collaborative Movement

Art always becomes more interesting when artists of different kinds work together on a joint project. From the artist's point of view, collaborations allow them to experiment with their craft, possibly even encourage them to test out their talents through new methods. By working closely with someone else, artists expand their creative horizons, allowing them to offer create things they most likely would not have otherwise.

Fashion designers are most definitely a part of this collaborative movement. While some designers pride themselves on their strict individualism, others relish in that creative energy that can only exist when working alongside others. Among these designers are Dries van Noten and Consuelo Castiglioni (Marni Edition). Although offering completely different aesthetics, van Noten and Castiglioni have both gained acclaim by testing boundaries, pushing limits, and subsequently raising the bar. This gusto is evidenced in their collections and in their collaborative projects alike. Let's take a closer look.
